This position is responsible for overseeing and managing all functions of the Solid Waste Division of the Public Works Department including the development, interpretation, adjustment and implementation of solid waste polices. The Solid Waste Division is composed of one closed 77-acre landfill and one 307 acre Subtitle D Landfill. The position administers the public contract for the private operation of a transfer station, rural drop box facility and drop-off recycling sites.  This position plans and develops the operation and maintenance of, rural drop box facilities and county solid waste disposal facilities in accordance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements.
