POSITION SUMMARY: Description of position and its purpose for the organization

The Landfill Operations Manager provides leadership and guidance to personnel involved in heavy equipment operation, overall site management and maintenance.  Collaborates with management to assure proper operation and appropriate landfill engineering.  This is a Full-time, salary position with benefits.  The facility is the Da Phuoc Integrated Waste Management Facility (DPI).  It is an established 18-year operating Sanitary Landfill serving HCMC and neighboring areas. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITLIES: List of intended ongoing primary duties

• Ensure the highest standards by effectively managing daily operations of the landfill and compost facilities that include staff and equipment assignment, MSW compaction, tipping pads, cover, litter control, roads and surface water management.
• Supervise, schedule, train, select, coach, and evaluate performance of full-year staff equipment operators, pumpers, laborers
• Conduct safety training, observations and inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety standards
• Minimize operational costs, optimize productivity, maintain safety and environmental compliance
• Reduce turnaround time for all customer trucks in, out and around the operations
• Coordinate and communicate among company facility colleagues
• Complete weekly reports and periodic reports to management
• Performs other duties as required by management

• Internal: Executive management, Department Managers and Supervisors, Team Leaders, Equipment Operators, Pumpers, Laborers, Mechanics and Administrative Staff.
• External: Contractors, suppliers, delivery services, government inspectors, waste truck drivers. Visitors

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or GED
• Knowledge of safety regulations pertinent to heavy equipment and site operations
• 3 years of heavy equipment operation experience in landfill or heavy construction industry
• Communicate, collaborate, receive, implement and complete work assignments safely
• Physically capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions on foot on uneven terrain
• Ability to perform assignments and desire for work assignment in Vietnam
• Good oral, written and interpersonal skills
