Essential Job Tasks:
•Extensive knowledge of and experience with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permitting procedures, requirements, and negotiations. •Applies this knowledge and experience to obtain and maintain permits and to provide compliance guidance for construction projects and system operations. •Develops plans, specifications, procedures and /or guidelines for complex environmental engineering projects. Recommends solutions to various problems. •Completes state and federal agency reporting for corporate-wide environmental compliance purposes, internal and external. •Environmental Management System (EMS): key member to the ongoing success and expansion of the corporate environmental management system; provides direct input to compliance tracking and environmental reviews for the Management Of Change (MOC) reviews forGeneration and all EMS expansion departments, as assigned. •Evaluates proposed and promulgated environmental regulations and the potential impacts corporate-wide to Santee Cooper business functions. •Develops plans, specifications, procedures, and/or guidelines for complex environmental regulations, permits, testing and reporting corporate-wide. •Assists department testing program by providing permit & regulatory interpretation and support, test plan and test report support, and maintaining hazardous duty training in order to assist with test events, as needed •Works directly with Santee Cooper Legal Department as it relates to CAA. •Provides prompt and professional response to any accidental release that affects Santee Cooper directly or indirectly. •Available to meet 24-Hr spill response activities when on-call and support other team members. •Completes annual 8-hour Haz-Woper training. •Participates in the hiring and supervision of seasonal employees. •Supervises an entry-level engineer.
This position may be eligible for hybrid (remote and in person arrangement).

•Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, Industrial, Civil Engineering, or related Engineering discipline from an EAC/ABET accredited University or College + 8 years experience. •Must have South Carolina registered Professional Engineer License. •Must be able to operate light equipment and be able to enter confined spaces. •May be required to wear a respirator: Self-Contained breathing app., Air Supplied, Chemical Cartridge, and/or Dust Mask. •Air quality regulatory and permitting experience preferred.
Compensation Information: $93,960 - $117,450 (min. - mid.)

Compensation Information: $84,280 -$105,350 (min. - mid.)
