The South Coast AQMD is seeking to hire Assistant Air Quality Specialists, Air Quality Specialists, and Program Supervisors for multiple vacancies in our Planning, Rule Development, and Implementation division. These responsible entry-level, journey-level, and supervisory positions perform a variety of professional assignments in the development and formulation of data analysis, reports, plans, assessments, and strategies for the evaluation and improvement of air quality; and develop rules and regulations based on the Air Quality Management Plan.
These various positions will be assigned to units involved in programs such as: rule development, CEQA analysis, climate and energy, AQMP/SIP development, socioeconomic analysis, air quality modeling, PM control strategies, transportation programs, and community emission reduction programs.
Program Supervisor Annual Salary Range: $100,892 - $135,562
Air Quality Specialist Salary Range: $83,383 - $112,055
Assistant Air Quality Specialist Salary Range: $70,683 – $95,000

Minimum Qualifications for all three classifications require a bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, planning, or the physical, social or biological sciences, depending on the functions of the assigned unit. Experience is required for Program Supervisor and Air Quality Specialist. No experience is required for Assistant Air Quality Specialist.
