POSITION SUMMARY

The Air Quality Specialist will assist in developing, implementing, coordinating, and overseeing complex air quality programs and projects relating to TransMontaigne’s operation and air compliance with applicable regulatory agencies across locations the United States.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and prepare applications and registrations for air quality authorizations, which may include Minor Source and Title V permits.
• Maintain strong working knowledge of local/state/federal air quality regulations applicable to terminaling facilities within our Operational areas.
• Work with regulatory agencies with respect to audits, inspections, investigations, emission events and other enforcement matters.
• Provide day-to-day expertise and guidance for the Operational areas on environmental compliance.
• Prepare and submit required compliance and regulatory/permit reports.
• Prepare and manage monthly/annual air emission inventories.
• Track and interpret air quality regulations and advise appropriate stakeholders on changes, concerns and issues.
• Participate in various internal/external committees as appropriate.
• Work with appropriate departments to review and determine potential air quality compliance needs.
• Visit terminals and complete internal inspections as needed.
• Prepare reports in connection with related field activities
• Maintain positive working relationships with internal/external customers including state/federal regulatory personnel.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret new and existing regulations, inspect and advise on operations, construction, procedures, records and training to ensure compliance with environment requirements prescribed in laws, regulations, and clients policies and procedures.
• Ability to provide regulatory and scientific expertise, advice, guidance and interpretation to ensure or improve compliance with air quality regulations.
• Ability to coordinate complex environmental air permitting activities for facilities and operations.
• Ability to write and edit detailed scientific reports that evaluate long-term results from various system-wide quality programs suitable for submission to regulatory agencies.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making in planning, organizing and conducting work assignments.
• Expertise necessary to analyze complex air quality, meteorological or toxicological data and provide assessment reports of potential problem areas that may have air quality impacts.
• Ability to coordinate with state and federal government agencies.
• Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to be a positive representative of the Company both internally and externally.
• Ability to work with respect and cooperation at all times with fellow employees and customers.
• Must be committed to working safely at all times.

Experience/Education:

• Bachelors degree in engineering, environmental sciences or equivalent experience is required.
• Minimum of give years’ of petroleum terminaling and/or oil and gas air permitting and compliance experience is required.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).

Travel:

• Up to 30% travel required. Requires the ability to travel to field locations where the environment may vary significantly.

Pay and Benefits:

Hiring Range/Annual Pay Rate:

• $80,000 - $105,000 Annually
