The Institute of Geological Sciences (IfG: www.geo.unibe.ch) at the Faculty of Science of the University of Bern is looking to hire a person who will build a versatile research program in Isotope Geology with emphasis on fundamental processes within terrestrial reservoirs and planets in general. Interest in the development of stable and radiogenic isotopic systems and related analytical procedures is desired. We are looking for a person with a track record of academic excellence and leadership qualities. Candidates should hold a PhD in Earth Sciences or related field (Physics, Chemistry).
We expect a commitment to teaching with participation to various courses of our curriculum. At the IfG, classes are taught in German at the BSc level and English at the MSc level, and the candidate is expected to be able to teach in German after three years.
The IfG and the University of Bern offer an interdisciplinary and stimulating researchenvironment and state-of-the-art research infrastructure. The professor is expected to actively collaborate with researchers at the IfG, across the University (Centre for Space and Habitability, or the Oeschger Centre for Climate Change Research), as well as nationally and internationally.
