Full Time - Experienced
Previous hands-on experience working in an isotope geochemistry laboratory or with isotope ratio mass spectrometers.
Experience with inlet and IRMS systems from Elementar and Agilent is desired.
A background in running elemental analyzer and gas chromatography inlets for isotope ratio mass spectrometers.
The ability to oversee laboratory equipment, gasses and consumables to ensure all instrumentations remain functional.
Experience with isotope equipment maintenance and troubleshooting (e.g. filament replacement, leak checks, capillary replacement, etc.).
Familiar with analytical instrument software for data collection and processing.
A familiarity with the Vario and IonOS software from Elementar is desirable.
Ability to create in-house isotope standards for data QA/QC.
An understanding of isotope data calibration methods.
Experience in running samples for bulk carbon and sulfur isotope signatures and compositional data (NCS).
Knowledge of the application of isotope data to petroleum systems is desired.
Experience working in a team environment.
Project design experience and ability to meet deadlines and communicate expectations.
Maintain the EA- & GC-IRMS equipment.
Weigh, load and run sample and standards for isotopic and compositional results.
Process sample results using appropriate calibration and correction methodologies.
Robust QA & QC program to ensure quality data.
Maintain a selection of in-house, matrix appropriate standards for carbon, nitrogen and sulfur isotope analyses via EA-IRMS.
Run samples for compound specific carbon isotopes (GC-IRMS).
Perform regular maintenance and order consumables and parts for the EA- and GC-IRMS instruments where needed.
Participate in company research programs.
Telecommuting is allowed.
