Our team is seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer III/IV to support our established Environmental Engineering practice within our environmental division. This individual will have a solid waste management focus. This position is for a project engineer and developing leader within our multi-discipline environmental engineering group of highly motivated professionals. You will become an employee-owner within a strong network of technical peers and leaders. Our Environmental Engineering practice is a community of civil, environmental, and chemical engineers, hydrogeologists, and other professionals working collaboratively together within Puget Sound, Spokane, Oregon, and beyond. You will join our highly skilled team and be provided leadership opportunities in business development, project management and delivery, and staff development. Some of Parametrix’s key Environmental Engineering clients include the Northwest Seaport Alliance; Ports of Sunnyside, Olympia and Morrow; Schnitzer Steel; EPA; Seattle Public Utilities; Snohomish, Grant, King, Kitsap, Kootenai, and Okanogan counties; and the cities of Richland and Bremerton. Our Environmental Engineering practice is based primarily in downtown Seattle and Bremerton (both with access to transit and bike lanes) and Puyallup (with convenient South King and Pierce County access.) Our offices have an open and collaborative design and are conveniently located near many of our clients. Due to COVID-19 we are working remotely and anticipate a return to offices during summer of 2021, while continuing to embrace work/life balance and remote work flexibility. When we do return to the office, we are open to candidate preference for location in our Bremerton, Puyallup, Seattle, or Spokane offices. WHO YOU ARE: Capable Project Engineer: Degree in Civil/Environmental (or other discipline combined with an environmental focus), PE and 8+ years of A&E consulting experience. Demonstrated project delivery success with a focus on client service, motivation to increase responsibilities in task/project management and aspirations to develop client relationships and new business in the region. Motivated Technical Focus: Capable of delivering varied civil and environmental projects in solid waste, hazardous waste, landfill and transfer facilities, and environmental permitting compliance, with services such as: - Solid waste facility planning and design,
- Containment system liner design,
- Leachate management,
- Landfill gas management and flare design, and
- Contaminated site remediation.
Collaborative Team Player: Strong interest in mentoring and being mentored, team oriented, and able to connect with junior technical personnel, support personnel, and senior leadership. The ability to integrate and collaborate within the environmental division, across divisions, across regions, and across disciplines is a key to success at Parametrix.
