Water Management at the City of Durham has 2 opportunities for water/wastewater engineers to manage rehabilitation projects and/or capital improvement projects (CIP) for our potable water and sanitary sewer collection systems. Water MGT provides water and sewer service to an area population of over 275,000. In order to provide these services, Water MGT owns and operates two surface water treatment plants, two water reclamation facilities, roughly 1,400 miles of water mains, and a collection system with 1,100 miles of gravity mains, 33,000 manholes, and 65 lift stations, and 75 miles of force mains. With a capital improvement budget of $250 million, this position offers exciting technical challenges including projects that involve rehabilitation, expansion, and capacity upgrades with heavy interaction between engineering and maintenance personnel.
