Assists the complex manager in the daily operations management of the I-95 Complex, to include managing the Ash Disposal Site, daily trash operations, Recycling and Disposal Center (RDC), Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) program, glass, construction, demolition recycling and processing, recycling initiatives, waste diversion, OSHA (HAZWOPER) regulations, E-waste, truck wash operations and maintenance, Brush Grinding Operations, Closed Landfill Maintenance and scale operations. Provides support to and collaborates closely with site engineering, environmental compliance staff, and county agencies in order to perform necessary facility maintenance and repair, and acceptance, storage and disposal of household hazardous waste while applying all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations for all activities. Schedules and assigns work tasks and monitors progress for a wide variety of assignments. Specific duties are as follows but not limited to:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, engineering, construction management, or a related field; plus two years of experience in an environmental, engineering or construction management program.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience supervising employees in an industrial facility of at least 50 employees. Five or more years of experience overseeing emergency response operations such as snow and flooding. Five years of experience in operation of landfill ash disposal sites and functionality of Leachate Systems. Five years or more experience identifying erosion issues and knowledgeable of corrective measures and controls needed to make necessary repairs. Two years or more experience with landfill methane gas systems and ground water monitoring. At least 40 hours Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training completed.CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:A CDL - Class B is required. DOT Medical Card-Required. The following courses and/or certifications are required within 12 months of appointment date.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to perform field inspections at project construction sites or potential sites for future facilities, able to physically negotiate rough terrain and typical construction sites. Must be able to climb construction ladders and stairs for multiple stories. All duties are performed with or without accommodations.
