The Department of Geology at the University of Regina invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in environmental geochemistry, starting July 1, 2020. We seek an innovative geoscientist, with a proven publication record of environmental geochemistry research contributing to a better understanding of the interactions of lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere and biosphere, and their impacts upon the environmental changes observed in the geological rock record and/or at the present time. The successful candidate should be able to develop a vigorous, independent, and externally-funded research program at the national and international level. With demonstrated excellence or potential in teaching, the candidate will have a commitment to inclusive teaching and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students, and post-doctoral scientists.
A Ph.D. in Earth Sciences or Geology is required at the time of application. Those with relevant post-doctoral or industrial research experience may use these experiences to demonstrate research success in their field of environmental geochemistry. Candidates should be eligible to apply for professional registration (P.Geo) within Canada.
