We have a great opportunity for a Safety Director, under the direction of the Deputy Chief Operating Officer. The person in this role will lead state operations and non-regulated business activities in the implementation and utilization of Aqua America, Inc.’s health and safety standards, implementation of specific programs in safety, loss prevention/control, and employee training. They will perform audits for compliance to Aqua and regulatory agency standards. Additionally, the Safety Director is the central point of contact for all aspects of Aqua’s Safety and Health Program for the various state operations and is responsible for establishing and maintaining points of contact to ensure information is disseminated to all levels of Aqua.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Bachelor's degree in safety management, safety engineering, industrial hygiene, occupational environment health and safety, or a related field is required.
A Master’s degree is preferred.
At least 10-15 years of safety management experience, utility construction or general safety preferred.
Must be well organized and possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency and background knowledge in industrial hygiene training preferred.
Physical security and emergency response knowledge/experience is also desirable.
Professional certifications of COHST, OHST or ASP preferred.
