Renewable Water Resources, a special purpose district created for the protection of public health and water resources, is seeking a successful candidate for the following position.
The successful candidate will develop and document the retail customer service processes, procedures and standards for the Customer Service Department; coordinate development of such items with ReWa Engineering, ReWa Accounting, and other stakeholders as needed; obtain buy in and approval from stakeholders and management; train the customer service team and other stakeholders as appropriate on the retail customer service processes, procedures and standards; assist and engage in future retail system integrations as needed; provide professional, courteous customer service at all times; collaborate as needed to understand and resolve customer inquiries, concerns and complaints in order to provide the appropriate solution for the customer and ReWa; effectively assist customers in understanding who ReWa is, what we do and how we differ and interact with sub-districts; effectively explain trunk and treatment rates and services to customers and assist them in understanding the sewer related components on their water bill; if applicable, explain retail rates and services as well as billing; guide customers through the necessary steps to connect to the sewer system; accept and record New Account Fees received at ReWa or through a sub-district; verify tax map numbers and availability of sewer; assure that development / capacity has been approved by our Engineering; process credit card payments for New Account Fees using the credit card portal; prepare deposits and validate Cityworks PLL End-of-Day Reports for payments received, resolve any issues noted and submit to Accounting; gather appropriate supporting documentation, calculate and recommend adjustment to the Customer Service Supervisor for qualifying accounts; if approved, post to the customer account; process refunds for customer; verify qualification for refund through DHEC, CIS or microfiche depending on length of account history; complete form and follow approval process; research water company records evaluate, and process exemptions as received; submit recommendations to Customer Service Supervisor; use the Geographic Information System (GIS) to research and interpret infrastructure data to provide information to the customer and subdistricts; review and update customer service procedures annually and as needed; perform other general clerical work as required, including but not limited to generating reports and correspondence, copying and filing documents, sending and receiving faxes / emails, answering the telephone, processing mail, etc.; attend staff meetings as required; attend training, meetings, seminars and/or workshops to enhance job knowledge and skills.

The successful candidate requires a bachelor’s degree or education and training equivalent to four (4) years of college education in business, accounting, communications or in a closely related field; minimum five (5) years of customer service experience with a utility; must possess a valid state driver’s license.
