We are a successful mid-range regional operation seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead our organization to new levels of organizational performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of our organization, ensuring that we are operating efficiently and effectively, comply with all statutory requirements, and meet Authority’s goals. In this role, you will be the face of our company, working closely with the Board of Directors, government officials and the public. You will ensure that staff and employees are aligned with the Authority’s mission and vision and that we are working together to successfully achieve strategic objectives. Our organization has a close-knit culture in which we place a high priority of communication, recognition and collaboration. The executive director reports to and works at the will and pleasure of a volunteer board of directors (Board). Duties entail professional administrative responsibilities in planning, directing, coordinating and promoting all activities and functions relating to the efficient performance of the Tucker County Solid Waste Authority (Authority).
Responsibilities of the executive director position extends to the day to day operation of the Authority, including but not limited to, addressing inquiries and resolving complaints, preparing and administering the fiscal budget approved by the Board, plan, implement and review educational and research projects, coordinate and oversee county cleanup projects, prepare and submit for approval all updates and amendments to the comprehensive litter and solid waste control plan and commercial solid waste facility plan, perform various other duties to assist complying with the statutory and regulatory responsibilities of the Authority. The employee shall actively participate in solid waste conferences, training workshops and other functions authorized by the Board. The performance of the employee shall be evaluated at least annually by the Board.
