This is advanced professional and administrative work with supervisory responsibility in the management of building, planning, design and construction projects for NMB Water. Assigns and reviews the work of a professional staff of design and construction managers including exercising final authority for planning, design, plans preparation and specifications; signs and seals plans and change orders; inspects projects for compliance with specifications and accepted engineering standards; performs specialized engineering functions of a highly technical nature involving design, analysis or testing; overrides, accepts, rejects or modifies engineering documents prepared by a registered Professional Engineer; prepares engineering reports; ensures design is in compliance with engineering standards, reviews engineering calculations; and makes analysis to answer complex engineering questions. Emphasis of the work is on the development and implementation of policies and procedures to assure success in monitoring the work of architectural and engineering consultants and contractors engaged in planning, design and construction of a variety of complex buildings and related facilities. Exercises considerable independent judgement in the application of the principles and practices of architectural and construction related engineering knowledge and in the administration of a variety of building construction projects.
