The purpose of this position is to properly operate and maintain the treatment facility in conformance with all Federal, State, and local regulations. This is accomplished by scheduling staff, giving appropriate direction to staff in the operation and maintenance of the plant assigned, budgeting, purchasing, completing and submitting the Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMR's) to the Florida Department of Environmental Projection (FDEP) per regulations, ensuring accuracy of all reports, utilizing the Hach Wims system to create plant specific DMR's for submission as needed, maintaining records, and utilizing the work management system. Other duties include preparing gain sharing reports; developing the capital budget; completing drips and drops; overseeing payroll; ensuring proper facility coverage; employee evaluations;; ensuring the facility is maintained; obtaining samples for analysis; maintaining accurate records and an open relationship with customers and community.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. WORKING CONDITIONS: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Environmental factors include outdoor conditions; rugged terrain, slippery surfaces, varying weather, including, heat, cold, dry, wet weather. In addition, noise, darkness, brightness, vibrations, traffic, biological agents, chemicals, gas/ fumes, magnetic fields, or congested area. Environmental factors include indoor, flat surface, noise, sitting with occasionally walking and standing.
