The Material Recovery Facility (MRF) Director is a senior operations person who manages and oversees the operation of all aspects of the Boulder County Recycling Center (BCRC), including ensuring smooth site operation, a robust materials marketing program, hiring and management of plant personnel, providing excellent customer service, and integration with Eco-Cycle’s & Boulder County’s Zero Waste missions and goals. The MRF Director must have previous MRF management experience, excellent equipment processing knowledge and the ability to trouble shoot equipment failures, a solid understanding of recycling markets, anda commitment to maximizing waste diversion and recycling performance.

Responsibilities include:* Effectively manage up to 40 (+) plant personnel* Coordinate production and maintenance supervisors* Coordinate material marketing program* Manage logistics and material transportation* Oversee MRF personnel needs, including selecting, training and coaching employees and evaluatingtheir performance* Perform monthly financial and production metrics analyses, and submit in a timely manner* Assure we meet or exceed our daily production goals and metrics, with an eye towards reducingdowntime and maximizing operating performance* Develop & implement objectives and standards for effective and safe operating performance, andoversee regulatory safety and training requirements* Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the physical property of the MRF including overseeinginspections and preventive maintenance programs* Provide operational/equipment improvement input* Ensure adherence to County Operating Contract, and submit required reports in a timely manner
Work Experience:* A minimum of 5 years of Industrial Management or related industry experience required* Engineering experience a plus* Prior experience in the recycling industry and materials market knowledge greatly preferred* Spanish bi-lingual a plus
