Function: Under general supervision of the Engineering Division Director, responsible for direct coordination between the Engineering and Control Systems divisions in support of capital projects. Acting as a liaison, is involved in every phase of capital projects (planning, design, construction, and closeout) to support electrical and instrumentation quality at LOTT.
Essential Functions: Responsible for a wide variety of complex functions, including but not limited to the following:
Contacts: Electrical & Control Systems Integrators have a wide variety of contacts depending on specific assignments. Contact with contractors, City and County Departments, LOTT Board or committees, or state regulatory authorities is for the purpose of information sharing, work coordination, and problem-solving. Daily contact may include a wide variety of skilled staff including engineers, technicians, electricians, control systems technicians, and other Plant staff for the purpose of coordination of effort and the sharing of technical information. Contact is occasionally adversarial in nature and the employee must resolve both technical and interpersonal issues while completing assignments.
Supervision: This position does not supervise others. Frequently directs consultant or contractor activities and work in support of assigned projects.
Accountability: Electrical & Control Systems Integrators are accountable for completing all assigned tasks in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner and are expected to find, predict, assess, and resolve design-related issues.
Experience/Education: Bachelor’s Degree from a college or university with a major in electrical systems, or engineering, or a closely-related field, and 5 years of increasingly responsible experience in the instrumentation control and systems integration in a wastewater treatment plant or similar industrial plant at the construction and design levels. A two-year technical degree and 7 years of increasingly responsible experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
Special Requirements: A valid driver’s license is required. Must participate in LOTT’s Health and Safety Program.
