MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to: graduation from a four-year college or university accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technologies with a bachelor's degree in the appropriate engineering or architecture field; plus nine years of progressively responsible professional experience in managing the planning, design and construction of large scale capital utilities or building projects, three years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:The ideal candidate possesses the following:
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Possession of a valid Virginia Professional Engineer or Architect license. An individual who possesses a valid Professional Engineer or Architect license in another state will be granted a temporary exemption to this requirement pending the Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, Certified Interior Designers & Landscape Architects decision regarding that individual's application for reciprocity. A valid driver's license is required.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:The ability to sit, walk and stand for extended periods. The ability to perform repetitive motion duties associated with operating a personal computer. The ability to communicate clearly with others. The ability to safely drive a county vehicle. Ability to visit and walk construction sites including industrial facilities such as wastewater treatment plants and sanitary sewer pump stations.
