Classification: ANU Officer 6 (Technical) Salary package: $78,956 - $82,651 per annum plus 17% superannuation Terms: Full time, Continuing Contingent Funded
The Australian National University requires a Technical Officer to manage and maintain the J1 laser ICPMS of the Experimental Petrology Group within the Research School of Earth Sciences (RSES) and assist with the running of the J7 multi-collector LA-ICP-MS. The J1 facility comprises an Agilent 7700 quadrupole ICPMS, and Complex pro193nm excimer laser system. The appointed person will be responsible for pro-active maintenance and management of the facility, training and supervising students, academic staff and research support staff on equipment usage, and providing advice on laboratory-based techniques. The role will work collaboratively with the School’s Work Health and Safety Manager to ensure all operations are compliant with ANU WHS policies and procedures. A degree in Geophysics, Geochemistry, Science or other related field with at least two years of subsequent experience in management of an ICPMS instrument facility or equivalent combination of experience and education/training with at least 2 years’ experience is required.
