Argonne National Laboratory is inviting applications for the position of Manager, Occupational Health.
The Manager, Occupational Health develops, leads, and manages the Occupational Health group of Occupational Health and Safety department including the program manager of the Workplace Exposure Monitoring (WEM) Program and supervisor of the Industrial Hygiene group lead. As WEM manager, responsibilities include maintaining cognizance of technical developments in workplace exposure monitoring and instrumentation, and developing standard operating procedures for the workplace exposure monitoring program. In addition the role manages workplace sampling and exposure assessments, including: field survey, monitoring, and reporting for asbestos, lead, noise, and chemical agents, in-place testing of High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters, and administration of Argonne`s respiratory protection program.
As the supervisor of the IH lead, the role oversees the planning and execution of the Argonne National Laboratory industrial hygiene program and prime contract stipulated requirements. The management role provides leadership to staff including work direction, performance management and mentorship. In addition the role deploys industrial hygiene staff to support programmatic, facility, and operations activities with a strong focus on partnering and collaboration.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
This comprehensive level of knowledge and skills would be achieved through a combination of education and 10+ years of working experience or equivalent. Bachelor`s Degree in a scientific discipline and certification in the practice of industrial hygiene by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (CIH) is desirable.
