Individual will perform project management for complex sanitary sewer and water distribution engineering projects which include the following:?
responsible for managing water and sanitary sewer Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects?
Prepare, design, and review plans and specifications for utility construction projects and stormwater management design?
Update and prepare Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP)?
Serve as engineer-in-charge of water/sewer maintenance construction projects?
Evaluate asset conditions and flow data?
Maintain effective working relationships with division and department staff, city officials, contractors, developers, and the general public;
Provide engineering support for the operation and maintenance of public utilities facilities?
Supervise the design, construction, and inspection activities to ensure good engineering and construction practices, and to certify that City/ State/Federal standards are maintained.
Conducting presentations at public forums and facilitating group discussions
Please Note: This position is being filled as an Engineer I (A.11 $55,494.40 - $85,196.80) or as an Engineer II (A.13 $61,256.00 - $94,036.80) based on qualifications.

MINIMUMS: Requires a Bachelors degree from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) approved engineering or engineering technology program, or an Associates Degree with six (6) years of progressive experience of engineering level work, or any combination of education and experience acceptable to and approved by, the Virginia Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, Certified Interior Designers and Landscape Architects (APELSCIDLA) to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
