The Utility System Manager under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Operations-Water Utilities is responsible to perform a variety of managerial, supervisory, skilled, and technical work in the planning, construction, operation, repair, maintenance and replacement of municipal wastewater collection and water distribution systems. The Utility System Manager is also responsible for the management of human resources, inventory processes, equipment acquisition, staff training and development, and program management. Ensures reliable, safe, water and wastewater services that are compliant with regulatory agencies and customer expectations. Recommends actions related to hiring, discipline, advancement, or other changes in employee status, and assists in the preparation, administration and monitoring of the Department budget. As a representative of management, supports the mission, vision, strategic plan, goals and decisions of the Department and City.
