This is a great opportunity for an entry to mid-level engineer to join a dynamic construction team focused on current and future infrastructure associated with collection and distribution systems.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The position plans, schedules, and manages the Capital Improvement and Asset Management Programs associated with the construction and/or rehabilitation of current and future infrastructure associated with the collection and distribution systems. Applies proper technical and construction techniques to problems identified.
Oversees multi-construction projects with budget responsibility. Manages each project to successful completion, controlling project cost and schedule, and prepares monthly progress reports including estimated vs. actual costs as needed.
Utilizes the hydraulic models associated with the collection and distribution systems.
Develop bid packages including advertisement for bids, contract documents, bid bonds, performance bonds, payment bonds, specifications and plans for multiple collection and distribution construction projects.
Creates and certifies bid tabulations based on contractor bid results. Reviews and approves contractor applications for payment and construction change orders to verify completeness and correctness.
Develops and implements long and short-range plans for multiple projects and improvements and assists in developing costs and schedules for projects.
Investigates, recommends, and utilizes new technologies associated with trenchless repair of underground collection and distribution lines in the water/wastewater utility industry.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with public groups, agencies, the media, and others contacted in the course of work. Establishes work schedules to optimize efficiency.
Minimum Training and Experience:
Requires a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering, environmental engineering or related engineering degree. Prefer experience in utility work and Registered Professional Engineer but will consider any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Salary Commensurate with experience
Hours of Work 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Monday – Friday Weekend Hours as Needed
