The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) is hiring a Director of Environmental Health and Safety and Risk Management Services. UAA has re-defined and enhanced this position and is expanding our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Risk Management (RM) Team to promote academic excellence at our Anchorage campus, our four community campuses, and extension sites throughout Southcentral Alaska.
The EHS/RM Director will report directly to our Vice Chancellor of Administrative Services in performance of strategic EHS/RM program development and will work with various departments and deans in the tactical/technical aspects of EHS/RM implementation.
UAA is the largest university in the state and one of three universities in the University of Alaska statewide system. UAA provides a wide range of opportunities for educational career and technical education programs that are closely aligned with Alaska’s core industries, such as aviation, science and engineering, oil and gas. These diverse educational and research settings provide many opportunities for collaboration and leadership on EHS/RM program development and outcomes.
At UAA, we honor diverse experiences and perspectives and strive to create welcoming and inclusive learning environments where all are treated with respect. In addition, UAA recognizes and values the diversity of our unique location in Southcentral Alaska, the ancestral homelands of the Dena’ina Athabascan, Ahtna Athabascan, Alutiiq/Sugpiak, and Eyak peoples.
UAA’s campus is connected to 250 miles of trails where wooded seclusion, mountain vistas and ocean views of the Last Frontier are to be enjoyed, and without sacrificing urban amenities. Anchorage provides a bounty of museums, movie theaters, shopping, live music, sporting events and hundreds of restaurants.
