Oak Lodge Water Services District is currently recruiting for a Plant Superintendent.
This position is responsible for the overall operation, administration, supervision and maintenance of programs, activities, and functions related to the operation of the District’s Wastewater Reclamation Facility in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules, regulations and guidelines.
The position is a part of the Management Team and is exempt from Union representation.
The successful candidate will have at least six (6) years of progressively responsible program related experience, four of which must have included supervisory responsibilities. An equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable; however, there is not substitution for the four (4) years of supervisory responsibility experience.
The salary range for this position is between and $84,000 to $110,000 per year. In addition, employees receive a generous medical, dental, vision and other benefits as provided to all other employees of the district. Oak Lodge Water Services is also participant in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS).

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:
Knowledge of the principles and practices of wastewater collection, transmission, and treatment; machinery, equipment, materials, and operating, maintenance and repair practices used in wastewater collection, transmission, and treatment systems; and chemical and physical processes involved in activated sludge type wastewater treatment. Federal, State and local environmental regulations, permits, and discharge standards; occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to wastewater treatment; skill in planning and implementation of management goals, objectives and standards; establishing priorities; developing and participating in negotiating NPDES permit discharge standards; planning, developing, and implementing improvements in wastewater treatment processes; resolving technical problems; analyzing comprehensive technical reports and records; developing, reviewing and monitoring operating budgets; interpreting and applying appropriate regulations; oral and written communications; planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling. Ability to oversee the lay out, supervise and inspect the work of skilled and semi-skilled workers; ability to analyze reports and data; ability to prepare and present information to broad audiences; ability to demonstrate sound judgment in stressful situations.
Experience and Training:
Six (6) years of progressively responsible program related experience, four of which must have included supervisory responsibilities. An equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable however there is not substitution for the four (4) years of supervisory responsibility experience.
