Process Safety LeaderThis position reports directly to the Environmental Health and Safety Manager at Green Bay Operations.
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
The Process Safety Leader will be responsible for leading the Process Safety Program with in Green Bay Operations. Green Bay Operations includes two pulp and paper mills, two converting facilities and one paper sorting facility. Candidate must be able to provide leadership and direction to improve organizational process safety culture and knowledge; and fosters process safety ownership within the organization through leadership, coordination, and coaching in accordance with the Compliance Standard(s) and Policies.
Responsibilities and Expectations for the Successful Candidate: * Provides leadership and direction to achieve the Process Safety (PS) vision through management commitment and employee ownership * Lead efforts to drive metrics, both performance based (i.e. leading indicators) and outcome based (i.e. lagging indicator) * Assists with the development and conducting of risk assessment methods/systems for anticipating, identifying and evaluating hazards * Drive improvement projects to completion and utilize action plans to reduce identified risks * Maintain and improve the change management process * Assists facility leadership with the development of short and long-term PS objectives, targets, strategies, and measures that prioritize and mitigate risks * Ensures the development, improvement, and implementation of guidelines and training systems to meet compliance standard requirements * Actively identifies PS elements gaps and puts sustainable processes in place to close them * Coordinate the disciplines necessary to meet and exceed the compliance standard requirements * Leads the PS Steering Committee to achieve results * Works with Reliability group to advance Mechanical Integrity of high risk process equipment * Works with employees at all levels and positively influences those outside of their line organization to meet element requirements * Works with the Safety and Environmental Groups on projects to meet CPS Element requirements * Participates in Chemical Hazard Reactivity Management and Evaluations * Provides routine communication to mill management regarding process safety issues impacting the mill * Evaluates the quality of Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) for the mill * Provides analysis of process safety incidents and near misses to assure sustainable corrective actions are implemented * Provides detailed technical direction to improve process safety performance * Drive 5 year Process Hazard Analysis Plan *
What You Will Need:
Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or other Safety/Science/Engineering related field or pursuing with a completion date by Fall 2017 * Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in an operation, technical, safety, process safety, chemical process safety or mechanical integrity role * Experience with Microsoft applications to include but not limited to creating charts, formatting, data entry, creating presentations and reports

* Process Safety experience in a manufacturing environment * Strong presentation and communication skills (verbal & written) * Ability to produce accurate, high quality work in a time sensitive fast paced environment * Experience and knowledge in recognizing and mitigating hazards * Knowledge of Process Safety/Chemical Process Safety regulations * Demonstrated ability to establish sustainable systems for compliance and continuous improvement
