Job Role Summary
ExxonMobil Biomedical Sciences, Inc. (EMBSI), located in Clinton, New Jersey, is accepting applications for an Exposure Sciences position in the Occupational and Public Health Division. EMBSI is a wholly owned subsidiary of the ExxonMobil Corporation, and has over 100 human health, environmental, and product stewardship experts positioned globally to provide integrated support to ExxonMobil businesses.
Job Role Responsibilities
ExxonMobil industrial hygienists and exposure scientists evaluate the exposures and risks of chemical and petroleum products and processes. Typical activities include evaluation of latest technologies/science in industrial hygiene and exposure sciences areas, exposure prevention through engineering design, health review of petrochemical processing equipment, exposure modeling, interaction with governmental/regulatory agencies, design and monitoring of industrial hygiene and exposure sciences research programs, human health risk assessments, development of literature reviews, and participation in professional organizations and trade associations.
Expected Level of Proficiency
The prospective candidate should have broad training in exposure sciences and a graduate degree in industrial hygiene, occupational and environmental hygiene, engineering, or a related field. A strong working knowledge in exposure assessment and control, and human health risk assessment is essential. In addition, experience with engineering design, legislative and regulatory process, public health, and/or biostatistics is an advantage. Candidates must be able to work independently and interact well with individuals in other scientific disciplines to achieve worldwide business objectives and to ensure compliance with corporate policies and international health and environmental regulations. This position requires extensive consultation and technical support to ExxonMobil affiliates worldwide and will require some travel. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
