Assistant Solid Waste Manager
The Cape May County Municipal Utilities Authority in Cape May County, New Jersey is seeking a qualified, dedicated, dependable professional to join their Solid Waste team to oversee the operation of a 1,000 ton/day landfill, a 600 ton/day transfer station, a wood recycling facility and a leaf composting facility in accordance with local, state and federal environmental regulations.
Specific duties shall include, but not be limited to; monitoring the daily activities at the facilities to ensure that the operations are in compliance and are operating efficiently and effectively; prepare and maintain annual budget; prepare written technical specifications for various types of heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, recycling equipment and LFG management equipment; prepare purchase requisitions for services and materials; and assist the Solid Waste Program Manager in preparing operation plans, cost evaluations, and permit applications.
Minimum 5 years experience in solid waste management, public works and/or heavy construction and a minimum 2 years supervisory experience.
Equivalent combination of experience, education and training may be considered. Candidate must have a valid drivers license and must be a New Jersey resident within one year of employment with Cape May County Municipal Utilities Authority.
