The South Tahoe Public Utility District is seeking applicants to fill a Limited Term Junior Engineer position. The term of employment is expected to conclude April 2020.
Under the supervision of the Principal Engineer, performs a variety of entry level engineering activities including the design, preparation and/or review of improvements, plans, parcel maps, potential easements, encroachment and environmental permits for water and sewer facilities to ensure they meet or exceed the District’s standards and regulations. Performs project management as assigned on District Capital Improvement Projects (CIP), including on-site construction inspection services. This is the entry level position in the department’s professional engineer series. Incumbents in this classification must possess an Engineering degree, but do not require practical professional engineering experience. Work is completed under the supervision of a Professional Engineer and includes planning, design, permitting, construction, operations, and maintenance of water production, storage, treatment, and distribution systems, wastewater collection, treatment, and distribution systems, and recycled water treatment and disposal systems.
