Veolia North America seeks a Shift Supervisor, Wastewater (Lic: CA WWT Grade IV/V)

Our Client-based wastewater treatment facility treats an average of 25 million gallons per day of wastewater from sources in Mexico. Treatment processes include advanced primary treatment, activated sludge secondary treatment, sludge thickening, and belt press dewatering. Control systems include a fully integrated SCADA and PLC network. Web based operations and maintenance data management systems support day-to-day facility performance.
In addition to the treatment plant itself, the facilities include five 'canyon collector' structures that capture occasional surface runoff and two pumping stations that transmit collector flow to the treatment plant. The facility is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 day per week.
Directs and manages the wastewater treatment operations and processes on a rotating shift to ensure safe continuity of operations, the execution of proper technical procedures and management policies that result in cost-effective VW contract compliance and compliance with all applicable permits and regulations.
Must have a California SWRCB Grade IV WWTP Operator License or higher. (License must be in effect for a minimum of 3 years.)
A minimum three (3) years of experience as an on-site Grade IV Shift Supervisor for activated sludge with aeration tanks wastewater treatment facilities of equal or greater size and complexity to the facility description above.
A minimum of five(5) years of experience in the maintenance and operations of activated sludge with aeration tanks facilities of the size and complexity as described above.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Associate or Bachelor's degree in wastewater, environmental sciences or related field preferred.
Must have a valid California SWRCB Grade IV WWTP or higher Operator's license. (License must be in effect for a minimum of 3 years.)

A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the maintenance and operations of activated sludge with aeration tanks facilities.
Knowledge and skills in the processes and methods of wastewater treatment, biosolids handling programs, air emissions systems and standards, laboratory standard methods for water and wastewater operations and maintenance procedures for related equipment.
Knowledge of pertinent federal, state and local laws pertaining to wastewater treatment facility with a NPDES permit.
Ability to hand emergency situations with proper training.
Ability to provide first aid, CPR and use SCBA equipment.
Superior interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with client, public and employees.
Excellent management and organizational skills are also required.
Ability to operate within a team atmosphere including direction of staff assigned to Shift Supervisor's work shifts.
Ability to operate computer, typewriter and other office machines as needed. Skills in Microsoft Office suite and SCADA systems.
Strong basic mathematics and computer skills.
Ability to work a 10 hour shift schedule which may involve night and weekend work.
