Comprised of waste prevention, resource recovery, and waste disposal lines of business, this robust and dynamic enterprise fund operates with an annual budget exceeding $100 million and 400 employees across 10 active locations. The SWD is currently seeking well qualified professionals with landfill technical expertise for the position of Assistant Division Director. Reporting to the Division Director, this position is responsible for ensuring that SWD’s daily business operations are efficient, effective, and accountable. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and technical expertise in the solid waste industry as well as in managing and interacting within an environmental regulatory setting. A background in public works and/or engineering is preferred.
Additional Salary Information: The salary range offered is $104,524 to $132,490 DOQ along with a competitive benefits package including full family insurance and PERS retirement. Candidates should be aware that the State of Washington does not impose an income tax.
