Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in business, public administration, financial planning, engineering or a related field.
Work experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis. Such experience must have provided the knowledge, skills, and analytical ability normally gained from attainment of a bachelor's degree.

Four (4) years of professional engineering experience which involved responsibility for the design of a large municipal or public utility system, or other comparable industrial plants/systems, including or supplemented by one (1) year of supervisory or administrative responsibility for an engineering operation or function;
Four (4) years of responsible supervisory experience which involved responsibility for planning, directing and administering activities related to the repair, maintenance and overhaul of mechanical equipment and instrumentation in a large municipal or public utility system, or other comparable plants/systems.
Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of asset management; principles, practices, and procedures pertinent to the installation, maintenance, repair, modification, design and overhaul of wastewater plant equipment, solid waste systems and fleet equipment; laws, rules and regulations relating to wastewater and solid waste operations; wastewater and solid waste equipment and components; supervision and administration; governmental budgeting and procurement procedures; occupational hazards and safety regulations; and the ability to plan, schedule and implement a comprehensive asset management program; understand the relationship of assets within the wastewater and solid waste systems; analyze equipment use, repair, and condition records and recommend measures to improve cost effectiveness; identify problems and develop alternative solutions; understand equipment and machinery specifications; and utilize software programs to implement an asset management program.
EXAMPLES OF QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE: Utility Manager, Regional Facility Superintendent, Civil Engineer, Mechanical Engineer
NONQUALIFYING EXPERIENCE: Having the required number of years of experience will not in itself be accepted as qualifying for the position. Your overall experience must have been of such scope, level and responsibility as to conclusively demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position.
