At HDR, we specialize in engineering, architecture, environmental and construction services. While we are most well-known for adding beauty and structure to communities through high-performance buildings and smart infrastructure, we provide much more than that. We create an unshakable foundation for progress because our multidisciplinary teams also include scientists, economists, builders, analysts and artists. That’s why we believe diversity is our greatest strength. HDR is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and an affirmative action employer. We believe that the way we work can add meaning and value to the world. That ideas inspire positive change. That coloring outside the lines can illuminate fresh perspectives. And that small details yield important realizations. Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.
HDR is seeking a Area Water Technical Design Leader to support our water/wastewater design practice, with projects specifically for water and wastewater treatment facilities and pump stations, but support with storage tanks, and gravity and pressure pipelines is also beneficial. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with extensive design experience seeking an opportunity to focus on design solutions and quality control. The primary duty of the Area Water Technical Design Leader is to independently create detailed designs, including plans, specifications and cost estimates for design projects. More specific responsibilities include establishing appropriate design methods, conducting engineering and process design, equipment sizing and selection, coordination with other engineering disciplines, and report preparation. Other responsibilities will include conducting quality control and value engineering reviews of other projects as a technical expert with recognized authority in the areas of water and wastewater systems, as well as staff development and mentoring. The primary focus will be in Southern California projects, but the Sr. Water/Wastewater Engineer is also part of a larger companywide technical program within HDR, and responsible for communicating and coordination with regional and national program staff in selecting the appropriate technologies and staff for meeting our clients’ needs.
