Environmental Specialist: This is professional work coordinating, implementing and performing the daily functions for the landfill gas collection & destruction systems, environmental monitoring programs and NPDES permits at three solid waste facilities.
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree from and accredited college or university in one of the biological or physical sciences, Environmental Engineering or related field and two (2) years related experience. A Master’s Degree may substitute for one year of professional related experience. Progressively related professional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required college degree. A valid Driver’s License is required. Must possess:
Preferred Qualifications: Principles of landfill gas & systems, certified NPDES inspector, environmental sampling courses and training.
Job Based Competencies:
Work Schedule: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds and frequently move up to 25 pounds. A dolly/cart or team member is available to help. This position frequently works outdoors around fumes or airborne particles. Protective clothing is regularly worn.
