Ramboll, an environmental, health, and technical consultancy, which provides state-of-the-art scientific, technical, and strategic risk management assistance to an international client base, is currently seeking applicants for a Water Treatment Site Supervisor in Minturn, Colorado. This position normally works dayshift; 5 days per week. This includes working some weekends. The potential exists that alternate hours and days would be required to meet facility and project needs. In addition to supervising, this position includes performing operator and maintenance functions. On some days, such as weekend schedules or when one operator is absent, the duties as operator will exceed 90%. It is anticipated that 70% or more of the work duties will be performing operator duties. The individual will be required to work alone on a routine basis, including in remote areas of the site.
This position includes the requirement to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime when needed to ensure the site is operating efficiently.
The Site Supervisor reports to the Head of Department for RWA-US Water Operations and is responsible for all aspects of site operations, including but not limited to supervising site personnel, supervising subcontractors, and ensuring efficient and compliant operation of the treatment plant. The Site Supervisor duties include the following:
Applicants must have a strong commitment to safety, environmental compliance, customer relations and team work.
Extensive experience with plant operations and maintenance in process industry wastewater or municipal wastewater treatment facility.
Must be eligible and obtain Water Treatment Plant Operator certifications in Colorado to comply with environmental permits. The certification must be maintained current.
Applicant must have good supervisory skills and a history of sustaining a highly productive team while sustaining good relations with the subordinates.
Demonstrated capability to perform basic maintenance functions.
Must have and maintain valid driver license.
The ideal candidate must be able to perform basic control laboratory testing and be able to understand and apply results.
The successful applicant must have good record-keeping skills, must be comfortable with computers and computer-controlled equipment, and must be capable of learning new operating, maintenance, analytical or computer skills.
The physical requirements of this position may include the need for climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing/sitting/walking, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. In certain situations, this position may expose the candidate to extremes in weather (hot/cold); high noise levels, to hazards, such as a proximity to moving machine parts and moving vehicles, electrical current and exposure to chemicals. Employees will be required to take specific training and to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) on some occasions.
The Site Supervisor may be required to enter Confined Spaces, read colorimetric tests samples and to work and drive after dark. Requirements include driving a pickup truck and operating a dump truck and/or back hoe, which is also used as fork lift; driving a snowmobile or operating snow removal equipment; utilizing hand and power tools; and walking long distances to perform pipeline and well inspections on unprepared surfaces that can be slippery or snow covered.
