Executive-level leader responsible for developing and promoting the organization's strategy for innovation. Fosters company-wide innovation through exploration, communication, and collaboration. Responsible for supporting business units with new product and service initiatives. Responsible for leading new revenue efforts for the Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) and the Louisville Water Company (LWC) under the "One Water" initiative. Responsible for identifying, evaluating, and pursuing revenue opportunities related to new business lines, innovative technology, regionalization, and economic development. Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Chief Innovation Officer (CINO) will work with the business areas to measure the likelihood of success for those ideas that are aligned with our strategy, obtain approval from executive leadership for pursuit, implement revenue generating initiatives, and develop key measures to track and report on progress. Bachelor degree in business, marketing, engineering or a related field; ten or more years of related utility experience including project management, program management, innovation, research or operations management; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must have safe work and driving habits.Preferred Qualifications: Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or graduate degree in a related field preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
