The Environmental Analyst will serve as a State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) Permit writer and will serve in a supervisory role. Candidate will establish annual goals and prioritize SPDES permit reviews within Source Water Protection areas and oversee progress in permit development to ensure annual goals are achieved. Will apply knowledge of the Clean Water Act and State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) permit program in developing individual SPDES permits. Will establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships and communicate constructively with Federal, State and local government agencies, engineering firms, various non-governmental groups, and the public on permit issues.

The successful candidate will have a master’s degree in engineering, environmental sciences, computer science or related field. Experience with project management required. Experience working with a broad range of stakeholders in implementing environmental programs and knowledge and experience with aspects of water quality and watershed management strongly preferred. Must be able to work effectively with scientists, engineers, and managers, and to establish professional credibility. Must possess excellent computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, geographic information systems, and ability to perform basic statistical analysis. Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.
