The City of Fort Worth Water Department has a Professional Engineer with a strong background in Process Engineering job available. You will be responsible for assisting the Engineering Manager over Facilities Planning in our Strategic Operations Division.
The ideal candidate will have at least four years’ engineering experience with a water utility agency, engineering firm or similar. This job requires strong leadership and communication skills, along with strategic thinking and a high level of technical expertise. We are looking for someone with experience or interest in the evaluation, planning, and design of water and wastewater treatment facilities. Strong interaction with multidisciplinary groups including operations, maintenance and consultants is important.
This candidate must be able to perform the following tasks:
Develop process flow diagrams and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams.
Conduct plant assessments, operational performance reviews, and process optimization.
Develop gas, water, and solids mass and energy balances.
Perform and document process calculations and develop standard calculation methods.
Prepare spreadsheets to analyze operational data.
Have working knowledge of various process simulators such as GPS-X and SIMBA.
Willingness, and ability to perform field related tasks including intensive sampling, process monitoring and plant troubleshooting.
Contribute to the preparation of plant operating procedures.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university with major course work in Environmental, Chemical or Civil Engineering related field.
Minimum four (4) years of increasingly responsible engineering experience, including 2 years in evaluating and designing water and wastewater facilities. Experience using process simulators is desirable.
Possess an active Professional Engineer License in the State of Texas or if licensed in another state, your continued employment will be contingent upon obtaining registration as a Professional Engineer, within the State of Texas, within six months of employment.
A valid Texas driver’s license.
