The City seeks an innovative, results-driven Assistant Public Works Director-Engineering & CIP to provide sound leadership for the City’s Public Works Department. Under limited supervision, this position manages the Engineering Department through effective planning, staff management, and resource allocation and ensures the effective completion of Engineering projects in compliance with state and federal regulations and City policies and goals. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional who understands the challenges in the municipal engineering field and is committed to improving service delivery through the implementation of best practices.
The selected candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering and have seven years of experience in engineering design, project management, and civil engineering, preferably in the public sector. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. A valid Texas driver’s license and registration as a Professional Engineer by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers are required.
