PREFERENCE(S): DWU Water Production (Treatment) - Requires strong background in surface water treatment and knowledge of water industry best practices including operations, maintenance and water chemistry. Must possess knowledge of local, state and federal regulations related to water treatment and operation. Experience with process optimization, capital planning, construction and/or project management is preferred. Possession of a valid Class "B" (or higher) Surface Water Treatment License from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is desirable.
Dallas Water Utilities-Utility Automation and Integration: Requires experience in the development, implementation, and/or management of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or other Urban Information System application (emphasis in water utilities); web page development/maintenance; knowledge of ESRI GIS software and oracle database systems. Knowledge of CADD, mapping systems (analysis and programming), database administration; and operating systems functions is a plus. In addition, the candidate must have experience in providing business consulting services and IT project coordination to internal divisions to translate their business needs to IT solutions delivery professionals to enhance business processes and operations of the Utility.
Dallas Water Utilities- Water and Wastewater Facilities Project Management: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and Professional Engineer license/registration required. (Professional Engineers with license/registration from other states must obtain the Texas license within six (6) months after appointment.) Experience in water or wastewater treatment facilities master planning, design, construction or project management is required. Job duties include budgeting, prioritizing, scheduling, design review and construction management of water and wastewater facilities projects. Position is responsible for managing approximately fifteen to twenty staff and working with consultants, contractors and operations staff in the delivery of complex projects to support the Water and Wastewater Operations programs.
Trinity Watershed Management – Flood Control: A Bachelor's degree in a business, public administration, engineering or construction management field is required. Experience related to the operation of Flood Control Levee systems and/or US Army Corps of Engineers guidelines preferred. Experience with excavation, embankment stabilization and/or erosion control is a plus. Subject to twenty-four/seven (24/7) emergency call, inclement weather conditions and high-traffic areas.
Dallas Water Utilities-Distribution Division: Knowledge of US EPA and State of Texas regulations on water distribution systems (including pipeline repairs; machine shop and heavy equipment operations; and water system operations/maintenance) is required.
Dallas Water Utilities-Pumping Division: Licensed Professional Engineer or Bachelor's degree in life science preferred. A class B (or higher) Water Distribution or Surface Water License from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) a plus.
Dallas Water Utilities-Wastewater Collections Division: Experience with standard business processes related to the inspection, maintenance and repair activities associated to wastewater collection systems (or similar systems) is required. Knowledge of TCEQ rules, guidelines and/or regulations associated with sanitary sewer overflows is desirable.
Dallas Water Utilities-Wastewater Operations: Knowledge of US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and State of Texas regulations/permits related to wastewater treatment and collections systems (wastewater conveyance, treatment, pretreatment / laboratory and operation and maintenance) is required. A class B (or higher) Wastewater Operator's License from the TCEQ a plus.
