Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or Health, Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene or related science degree and five years of related experience. Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements. The university offers market competitive salary and benefits. Grade EI. Salary range $66,153 - $92,172 - $120,557.

Plan, develop, implement, direct and evaluate university programs to promote workplace safety and minimize hazards in line with regulatory compliance. Coordinate with university departments striving for continuous improvement. Propose and create new occupational health and safety programs based on prioritization of highest risks. Monitor and evaluation programmatic and operational effectiveness. Manage and supervise the unit’s staff and operational budget.
Develop and deliver all OSHA required training for various categories of employees. Develop a plan to prioritize training needs on Blackboard or BioRaft LMS. Investigate and mitigate indoor air quality issues, including mold and asbestos. Investigate accidents and incidents and recommend corrective action, oversee the annual evaluations of OSHA injury and illness data. Analyze data, create reports and develop onsite workplace assessments. Review engineering and construction documents. Must maintain knowledge of laws, regulations and guidelines and develop, implement and update policies and procedure concerning all aspects of workplace safety and health.
