Hiring range: $91,077 - $152,000.00The Solid Waste Services Director is responsible for the leadership and administration of all the functions of the Solid Waste Services Department, which include: residential solid waste collection; residential and multi-family recycling collection, residential yard waste collection, yard waste processing center operations; and maintenance and monitoring of the closed landfill. SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Exercises direct and indirect supervision through subordinate supervisors of solid waste collection and disposal, yard waste center, and code enforcement activities.Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with City policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees by planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT: An employee in this position is expected to possess the following:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in public administration or field directly related to assignment and ten years of progressively responsible related experience that includes significant management and progressive supervisory experience in municipal solid waste services operations.The initial review of applications will take place April 30, 2018.
