Performs complex technical and difficult administrative work in regards to the public education and compliance of sanitary sewer programs especially as related to industrial monitoring, truck hauled wastes and Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) programs; reviews plans, schedules and conducts sampling, testing and inspections, coordinates with contractors and citizens, maintains records and responds to inquiries, maintains and prepares billing support data. Assists in the development and implementation of an educational program which educates the commercial food industry and the public of the detriments of fats, oils and grease discharging to the sewer or storm water systems and in the maintenance of grease traps and interceptors. This position is located at the City of Lynchburg Wastewater Treatment Plant.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor's Degree (BS or BA) in civil engineering, a related field, an appropriate science (ie. biology, chemistry) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
