Under the general direction of the Laboratory Supervisor, this position administers the daily activity of the Industrial Pretreatment Program as approved by the USEPA and Illinois EPA; acts as the point of contact with the Industrial Users, the IEPA and the USEPA at the operating level; and processes applications, prepares permits and monitors the performance of industrial users. Supervises the Monitoring Technician and assumes the supervisory duties of the laboratory group in the temporary absence of the Laboratory Supervisor.
Position requires Associate’s degree and one to two years industrial waste related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Advanced education or additional experience in biology, chemistry or regulatory laws is preferred. Must be proficient with personal computers in word processing, spreadsheets, and complex database applications on a daily basis. A valid Illinois motor vehicle operator’s license is also required.
