Reports To: Director of Safety Services
Provide advanced professional industrial hygiene services and consulting to AGC members in AGC's Group Workers' Compensation Insurance program and other AGC members for the identification, evaluation and control of occupational health hazards in the work place. Assists internal staff in the assessment of risk for current/prospective policyholders and management of occupational disease claims.
Qualifications and Skills
Intermediate to advanced knowledge in the theory and practice of industrial hygiene in construction, including chemistry, air monitoring techniques, toxicology, noise measurement, industrial ventilation and equipment calibration; demonstrated working knowledge of OSHA, other governmental regulations pertaining to the industrial hygiene/occupational health disciplines and workers compensation insurance; demonstrated ability to assess and manage complex industrial hygiene problems; ability to work under limited supervision and function effectively in a team environment; strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate technical information in a clear, concise manner. A valid Oregon driver’s license with a good driving record or the ability to transport oneself to and from diverse work settings is required, as is occasional overnight travel.

BS in Industrial Hygiene or related science and five years progressive responsible work experience in industrial hygiene with demonstrated skill in assessing and managing complex industrial hygiene problems. MS in Industrial Hygiene is preferred. American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) certification is highly desirable. Experience in construction and/or related industry is desirable.
