The Water and Sewer Engineering Division at New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Bureau of Water and Sewer Operations is responsible for the master planning for water and sewer infrastructure for the City of New York, informs on water and sewer infrastructure for billion dollar projects, involved in the planning and design for the urban stormwater management systems (Bluebelts and Green Infrastructure) and creates design criteria for the agency with respect to resiliency.Job Description:DEP/WSO is seeking a Manager who will have an exciting opportunity to work with distinguished colleagues in one of the largest water and sewer agencies in the United States, building modern digital tools that inform engineer design and major construction projects. The selected candidate will lead a group in the efforts of water and sewer infrastructure engineering, design through the development, operation of one-of-a-kind infrastructure modeling and capital planning group. There are approximately 7,000 miles each of both sewers and water distribution system throughout the City. Candidate will also oversee a group of talented engineers, GIS analysts, engineering technicians, etc., on developing an integrated sewer system model that evaluates potential sewer improvement projects, assesses capital projects, enhances resiliency, and improves water and sewer operation throughout NYC. DEP/WSO is seeking a motivated high level manager with Hydrology & Hydraulic skills, and who is passionate about water resources, the betterment of NYC water and sewer infrastructure, and advancing the adoption of new technologies in water and sewer infrastructure planning.
