This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising the overall operations of the Fleet Division and the Solid Waste Division including supervising the work of a group of professional and technical employees and coordinating assigned activities with other public works divisions and city departments. The work performed requires a high level of technical proficiency in fleet, solid waste and procurement operations and activities.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration or related field; three years of increasingly responsible experience in planning, managing, monitoring, and executing projects; fleet management experience including equipment rental, shop management, facilities operations and maintenance, and contract budgeting; solid waste utility management experience including solid waste collection and curbside/commercial recycling programs; two years of supervisory experience. Must possess a Washington State Driver’s License; must possess or have the ability to possess within six months of hire date, first aid and CPR certifications.
