Job Summary/ScopeResponsible for developing and coordinating the City of St. Joseph's efforts to improve stormwater quality under the direction of the Technical Services Manager. Primary focus lies with compliance with the requirements in the City's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit and Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Long Term Control Plan (LTCP) as well as related goals, objectives, policies. Assists as needed in activities related to compliance with the City's other NPDES permits, Industrial Pretreatment Program, and Fats, Oil, & Grease Program.

Material and Equipment Directly UsedOperates a variety of sampling and field equipment, laboratory equipment, and standard office equipment including computers, copiers, scanners, telephones. Drives a light vehicle. There may be times when use of a personal vehicle is required. Working Environment/Physical RequirementsWork is performed is a variety of environments including wastewater treatment and conveyance facilities, office, laboratory, industrial facilities, restaurants, construction sites, and streams/rivers. Work may be performed in a range of environmental conditions such as extreme cold or heat, dust, fumes, wind, precipitation, and noise. Must have hearing and visual acuity and to be able to stand for lengthy periods of time. Must be able to walk over uneven terrain, bend, stoop, climb, crawl, and perform other similar physical activities. Frequently required to lift 30 to 50 lbs. Some overnight and/or day travel may be required for business purposes. Vacation and other leave scheduling shall be requested in advance and approved by the appropriate supervisor.
