The duties of the Operations Team Lead shall consist of those jobs necessary, but not limited to, hands on operation and supervision of union and non-union employees responsible for wastewater collection/treatment, drinking water production/transmission/distribution, , water quality testing, process control, emergency response, capital planning and budgeting, O&M planning and budgeting, adherence to capital and operating budgets, regulatory reporting, and adherence to established and developed practices to insure that the department’s overall operations are in compliance with applicable federal, state and industry regulations and internal standards. Directly responsible for the creation and maintenance of standard operational procedures, as well as implementation and enforcement of corporate procedures and requirements. Works under the direct supervision of the Sr. Superintendent WW. Incumbent follows manuals, directives, instructions and usual procedures in performance of duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL OR REGISTRATION QUALIFICATIONS:
B.S. Degree, preferably in Environmental Sciences, or Biology, or science related field
Desirable to have worked and supervised personnel in wastewater/water industry at least 2 years so that basic knowledge of operations and responsibilities are known. Possession of or the ability to obtain both a Pennsylvania Class A Water and Class B Wastewater licenses including all relevant certification subclasses within a reasonable time frame.
Basic knowledge of wastewater/water treatment plants and well and pumping station operations preferred, with the technical/mechanical/managerial ability to assume superintendent’s position Must have good computer skills including MS Office, with ability to learn Lawson, Maintenance Connection, LIMS, WIMS and other relevant software programs.
A valid US driver’s license.
Responsible for keeping the operations within budget and overseeing the capital projects and meeting budgeted goals.
